Hi looking for a Temporary mooring from now 25th April to mid June.
Any advice welcome, my mooring is in Poole but for the time being I am in my homeland Cornwall, previously attached to Fowey - all options considered

The telephone arrived in Cornwall some time ago, always best to contact the mooring owners directly

In fact Cornwall has been at the very heart of telecoms since the first underwater cables were installed at Porthcurno and one of the first satellite earth stations built at Goonhilly.

Many clubs will have space, the problem is getting hold of the right person. It's generally a good time, Autumn is the worst for finding room.

It might be best to arrive, pick up a handy paid mooring and then have a look around.

The RWYC and Cattewater Harbour Commissioners have swinging moorings roughly in the middle of this area, they may do a deal for a longer stay:

Mayflower Boat Owners Association control most of the swinging moorings in that area but they may want a £250 joining fee up front though it might be worth asking about a stay.

From there you can investigate. Visit Plym Yacht Club on a Friday night and you might be sorted. Plymouth Yacht Haven don't mind sublets and sometimes have short stays on the notice board.

.

Hmm probably should have been a little clearer on Location and time.
Location South Coast of Cornwall and from May to Mid June only.

Boat 25ft Cat - so mooring can dry out.

Try Fowey. Deep water moorings have a long waiting list, but drying ones up near Golant seem not to be 100% occupied. But this is only an impression when rowing the river - there are lots of buoys to hit! I suggest you call the harbour commissioners and ask.

Your only option is to telephone round all the places that you can think of and ask. At this time of year most people are back on the water or have paid for their mooring. You might get a short lease/use on a mooring, but will need to be very, very lucky as most have a no 'sub-let' clause.

Ringing round you will be speaking to people with local knowledge who might know somebody who knows somebody.

Perhaps a call to the harbour master at Turo might come up trumps as there are a few pontoons on the Fal where people over winter their boats. Or find a quiet creek and anchor up well upriver, for example join the liveaboards at Dandy Hole on the Lynher.

p.s. I am on the Tamar so quite local to the south coast of Cornwall.
