Many thanks Steve, will update the post. So 46 in all and 1988/9-1994 was the production run or when sold. At least now through Googling, anyone can get more information on the Cornish Yawl from this thread.

Found another one here, 'Penny Black' built in 1990 asking was £22,500 - looks lovely.

Eileen Kate has been in contact to add that CY35 is dated 1993. Thank you.

There has been interest with setting up a Yawl forum. I recently went down this route with the Folksong boat having sought information, contacts, members etc and there is now a successful Folksong group running through Yahoo. I'm sure there will be other ways of running a free forum if anyone wants to start something. The Folksong group has interesting threads on technical issues/ history/development etc with a good gallery of pictures for each boat :)

 Don't look at me, I didn't set it up and I haven't even got a Yawl.......YET;)

What might be better is to try and re-invigorate the CornishCrabber.org forum....which is here http://www.cornishcrabbers.org/ Somebody had already done the hard work, It's already set up and ready to go.

Question - how well do Crabbers hold their value. Improvements aside, would you say they lose about 1k per in value and are Crabber 24's etc more sought after and hold their value better than Yawls. I am now thinking of selling my Drifter for a Cornish Yawl/Crabber with a budget up to 25K.

Please pm me if you prefer.

Many thanks, Chris.

Hi Fellow Yawl Fans!
Steve has just alerted me to the existence of this forum. Very pleased to find it.
I own Annabelle CY10. When I first bought her five years ago I tried to find a forum but there seemed to be absolutely no interest then. Very glad to see it has been revived. I did have some communication with Pete about Kindred Spirit CY33 when he first purchased and I have bumped into Steve and also David CY21 on my travels.
Annabelle's home port is Rock, moored just off Porthilly beach and we have been to Seafair 2010 at Milford Haven and round Lands End as far as Wareham at the top end of Poole Harbour.
Zagato: You ask if they hold their value? The 1990 list price was £25,990 for the centre-plate version, £210 less for bilge keels. So if you are looking at current second-hand boats at £25k (that is top-end) then you have the answer. I think it is like any well-found boat; spend 15% of the purchase price every year in maintaining the boat to its top standard and you will usually get the purchase price back!
I can vouch for the solidity and strength of the Yawl. That three-and-a-half tons is not all in the ballast - it is the most solid lay-up I have seen in a 24ft hull. I drilled an extra hole in the transom to take an extra bilge pump drain and the core-plug which came out of the hole saw was the same thickness as four pound coins! Just don't think you can tow her anywhere - it is a low-loader job.
Loads of comments to make on the topics already raised, but another time.....

Hi Brian, Annabelle is now on the list :D I have transferred some of this information over to the Crabber Club forum which you can log into on the official Cornish Crabber site.

I am still trying to find some answers if anyone knows.

Questions. Does the Yawl share the same hull as the MkI & II Crabber ? (I don't think it does but maybe wrong. Was the Yawl sold alongside the MkII Crabber?

Yep. Is on mine, anyway; the bobstay has a tackle, the shrouds have highfield levers, and when you let it all off you can unstep the heel and slide the sprit back down the side deck.

EDIT: Read the review now, and would pretty much agree with all of it (including the contortionist's head compartment)
