Corniche 31 - Possibly buying and looking for some advice

I am glad it all worked out for you, and welcome to the world of secondhand boat ownership. I trust you are now pouring copious quantities of money into the hole in the water surrounded by fibreglass that you now own, like the rest of us.

Did you sort out a purchase contract ? Having such a document will help when time comes to sell on as it helps establish provenance and title. Even if there was no contract I assume you did get a receipt as that will be your Bill of Sale, and this is the most important document proving you are the boat's owner. I understand that 5 years mooring receipts and general bills is also quite effective at establishing title, as anyone claiming title would have extreme difficulty explaining why he has waited so long so to do.

See you on the water.

In the end i didn't use the contract but did use the rya bill of sale template. I also have all the bills of sale and paperwork going right back to the original build sheet and ssr reg so should be good for proof of ownership.

This is actually my third boat but first of this size and value. I reckon if added both the cost of both previous boats together i might be able to rebuild one of the engines in this thing so its a different beast in a number of ways!

I will certainly be thinking about contracts next time if we ever upgrade. We live and learn!

On to my chinese heater next...

D.
