I am glad it all worked out for you, and welcome to the world of secondhand boat ownership. I trust you are now pouring copious quantities of money into the hole in the water surrounded by fibreglass that you now own, like the rest of us.
Did you sort out a purchase contract ? Having such a document will help when time comes to sell on as it helps establish provenance and title. Even if there was no contract I assume you did get a receipt as that will be your Bill of Sale, and this is the most important document proving you are the boat's owner. I understand that 5 years mooring receipts and general bills is also quite effective at establishing title, as anyone claiming title would have extreme difficulty explaining why he has waited so long so to do.
