Corfu-Levkas share travel?

Hi,

I have just found this discussion as I am looking for transport options from Corfu/Igoumenitsa to Nidri in September. It seems the best options are:

- taxi
- one way car rental from Europcar/Camilla

Is this about right?

I arrive in Corfu on Sunday 8th September at around noon.

Can someone tell me:

- Contact number for Camilla (assume I can do the one way hire two week later from Nidri?)
- Contact number for Igoumenitsa taxi?
- pointer to Ferry timetables?

Thanks in advance, I have never done the Corfu route before but could not get decent flights to Preveza this year.

for ferry schedules seach for The Ionian magazine, but basically they are v frequent, buy your ticket at the window with the time that suits

We used Vaggelis for a taxi last week on anothers recommendation. e100 Preveza to Iggy inc tolls. faultless.

earlier in teh year we had one way budget care hire from iggy for 10 days, but just off the web.

Looking ahead.. I arrive to Corfu late on Saturday 17 May 2014, heading for Vlykho just south of Nydri on Lefkas/Lefkada next day. I have booked a spacious taxi for around noon on 18th, for EUR 150 which is not a bad price from Igoumenitsa all the way to Vlykho. I would be glad to share with anyone going to Preveza, Lefkas or Nydri (all of which are on the way to Vlykho), sharing cost pro-rata to distance. room for 3 besides me.

Just to make you aware the europcar office shuts in winter and Camilla doesn't work in winter so you wil get no response.
I'm in Nidri and passed the office today and all is shut .
There is an alternative to car and that is the Athens bus which leaves from the green bus station in Corfu ,the green ones are the long distance buses. Bus leaves at 1330 daily last year ,you get on bus there and fare includes ferry ,stay on bus till the bus turns left heading for Vonitsa , the left turn is 7 km past the Preveza airport heading for Lefkas. You can then get taxi from there to Lefkas which isn't far and most people doing this method ring taxi from ferry or pre arrange so he meets the bus when you get off .Fare on bus was 30 euro last year .Just another way of getting down to lefkas and works very well .

Interesting alternative... I would prefer to share the taxi I have booked but EUR 150 is steep on my own. No takers Igoumenitsa-Lefkas (or Vlykho) direct on 18th May ?

Wednesday April 23rd anyone? Catching the early morning flight from Gatwick to Corfu. Contemplating Sky Express flights, but happy to share one way car hire Igou to Preveza.

I looked into SkyExpress for 18th May and no flights... are you sure about April 23rd? hang around till May 18th?
