Plataria? Not quite as far as Sivota and not a bad place.

Ormos Valtrou? On our way there just now as its a bomb proof anchorage and there's a bit of wind forecast. Nothing there at all but a nice enough place for all that. Oh, there is a beach bar on the northern shore but not sure if it's open other tha when the trip boats from Corfu come in.

just checking out a potential holiday fo 2016, that is similar to yours of this year - how did you get on ?

It was a reasonably good holiday. With two families on a 45ft-er, compromises had to be made. A lot of beach for the women, so only short sails - we never got further than Antipaxos. Everyone liked Lakka so much we went back for another night and back again to Voutoumi!. We liked Mourtos on the mainland, too. But a week's cruising limits your horizons.

The boat really needed new sails - when the wind did get up, we just heeled more and slowed down despite any adjustment to cars and sheets.

Things improved among the 5 females on board when we discovered showers the hotel at Lakka, and from then on we paid for showers ashore whenever possible (the gym in Gaios was only marginally successful).

I've reported on this forum already about crossed anchors at Gaios.

I thought I'd already compromised by having a week's beach holiday - If there is a next time (with the in-laws), I'd push for the full two weeks on the boat.

I did a week in the same area in July this year and I have to say I preferred Croatia. Biggest bug for me was if you stay out long enough to catch what little breeze there is in the afternoons you struggle to find a berth.
