Hi guys We r sailing in Greece and wanted to go to veniceq but don't want to take the boat there. Thought we could leave the boat for a few days while we go to Venice. Any suggestions as to where we could safely leave the boat.
Also any ideas on how to get to venice from Corfu. We hear there are ferries? Any suggestions. Probably a couple of days in Venice will be enough. Keen to hear from anyone with helpful thoughts on this venture

The obvious places for safety and convenience are Gouvia marina, but a bit pricy in high season, or the local harbour in the centre of Corfu, near the ferry terminal, but that can be very busy. Gouvia would be my choice if you are going to be away for 5 or 6 days.

Gouvia is only 15 minutes taxi, or bus from Corfu town. There are regular ferries direct to Venice. The ferry companies have offices around the port, or any travel agent will book for you. Google Greek Ferries and you will get details of the timetables.

Daft idea, leaving the boat in Corfu when you can, in 2 days and at vastly less cost sail up to Venice and have a far better time.
If you really are masochists, take the boat to Messolonghi, catch the bus to Patras and the ferry from there to Venice.

I have to say that the idea of sailing into Venice on my own boat is very attractive!
