After my overhauling experience of last year I have finally tested my Volvo 2001. It is difficult to start, but once away it seems to run well. A slight mist of diesel appears from around the new injector, the leakage from the cylinder either containing diesel or blowing diesel found lying around the injector. As I know the old injector was very difficult to remove (and we did not use a special tool) I assume the copper sheath that sits in the block is damaged and should be replaced. This job is now booked at the dealer, but I wondered if there was any advice about this? Can I try/do anything with the existing sheath?

try cleaning the sleeve with volvo nylon brush
fuel leakage indicates that the injector is loose in the sleeve
if the sleeve is loose in the head then you would get water
