Copper pipe

Just trying to update the gas connections on our boat and we are struggling to find connections, the main copper pipe is 6mm vs the normal 8mm. The Calor marine shop don't do 6mm bits so I am trying to find out if there is such a thing as a compression fitting that steps up from 6mm to 8mm.

Any ideas?

Or try a place that does pneumatic fittings 0 Enots do a range for copper pipe an will almost certainly have a coupler for 6 to 8Ø pipe.

Check your appliances on full consumption do not lead to unacceptable low pressures due to the small bore 6mm pipe. If you do an LPG small boat CORGI course this is one of the many checks you have to demonstrate you are proficient in.
Up to you if you feel you are competent in LPG but I must say I will admit to learning a thing or two about LPG that I would not have thought about after 20 odd years as a 'practical' enginer when I did mine.

There are several places you can get them.

B&Q in the Carse have a very limited range.
Harpers, the caravan place behind B&Q are more helpful and will probably have the bits you want in stock.
I also will probably have some but unfortunately everything is packed up as I am moving from this area to Central Scotland (Fife) in a few weeks.

By FAR the best place to get the parts you want is here They do not charge postage even to IV postcodes on small orders.

You will get any 6mm or 8mm connections from there.

I seem to remember that the cheap compression fittings in B&Q have brass olives, whereas pure copper ones are recommended for a marine environment. May be talking rubbish here though...

Thanks All!! Hopefully I'll be able to do the job. If I have any doubts about blowing myself up I'll check the local gurus!
