Could anyone please give me an idea how much copper nails are and where do you get them?

I will get back to you on this one, i put my mate in touch with a firm that does fastnings by return post, bronzes an all, he got all he wanted and cheaper than local yard.

Thanks Rich.

I'm only asking because I've come across a cache of them. The owner of the boathouse I'm in is going into hospital for a few days and i thought that I would surprise him by giving it a spring clean. It hasn't been touched in 50 years!! I've started with the work bench which has taken me the last 3 days and this is where I found tins of old copper nails as well as numerous other contraptions as yet unidentified. Most of the stuff is obviously junk but Sandy keeps coming in, lifts up an object, says "Oh, that's very useful", puts it in his pocket and walks out. Eventually I'll persuade him to throw the junk bits out.

Tomorrow, while I'm waiting to crane out my engine, I'm going to start on The Rack. This is 50' x 15' of shelving filled with all sorts of boating stuff, mostly from punts and the like. So if you need any 15' oars for your dinghy, let me know. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I'll have a better idea on the oars in a couple of days but there seems to be at least 2 dozen of them. You could maybe get one of the many boats coming across this season to take it on their deck for you. A guy in the yard just made his own gaff sail for his canoe-type thingie. Eventually I'll get to know what all these things are called. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
