...described on another thread as a "sewing machine"!
Anyway many engines, this one included, have shaped or pre bent hoses for coolant, so shaped to fit well. A google seach for Yanmar hoses or variations has not bought anything to the fore, I've had to go and search to other sites. My point was, sorry for the waffle is that, I'd have thought "Yanmar dealers/suppliers" would list such specific hoses? Or not........

Whats your favoured hose source?

Should be no problem from a Yanmar dealer. Probably won't have them in stock as they are very slow moving items. Doubt there are any alternate suppliers for that very reason.

Quite possible, good point; but could they not be listed on site as available? I have (hopefully?) found what I needed, but it took several hours of searches, and has come from specialist suppliers ( not Marine engineers or Yanmar dealers)

Is the one you need one of these: http://www.marine-power.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=20_78_227 ?

If not, I expect Marine Power could order the right one for you.

Pete

Spent much time searching their site, but the hose is not listed, despite there only being 3? for this ubiquitous engine. Theirs was the first site I found, and revisited many times thinking it MUST be there somewhere....... (bit like the Goons," everybody got to be somewhere"...) But not there...
Thank you too, for your efforts!

Went there too....too much time faffing having to register before searching for what you may want!!:disgust: Probably my loss ! Thank you, though!

Couldn't agree with you more. What a hassle to do a search..or maybe like you I'm cutting off my nose to suit my face.

The main dealer is Barrus - the rest get thier bits via them
Suggest you start there !!
Thank you.............you'd have thought keying in Yanmar might have bought that up....but no. Nor do they list parts or components: you are referred to dealers...back to step 1!!

Anyway, I will shortly have the part, but thank you all. It seems following my original post, that I am right from what most have said...these things are not as easily available from dealers as one may have initially supposed/hoped/wished/expected......

It's well worth calling Marine Power rather than expecting everything to be on their website (which perhaps it should be). I have found them very helpful indeed, e.g. suggesting water pump seals that have stainless steel springs instead of the brass ones that Yanmar fit, but not at the outrageous price that Volvo charge. These are not listed on their website but they most certainly stock them.

I don't doubt it for a moment. As you say, perhaps it should be...it cost them a sale. Albeit a very small one in this instance!
