Does anyone know if there are coolant valves or is there only one coolant drain plug on a pipe from the heat exchange on this type of engine ... 2YM15?

I would recommend searching for the service manual for your engine. All will be confirmed in there. Usually easy enough to find a pdf for download.

My 3ym30 has two coolant drains - one obvious one in the pipework leading to the heat exchanger and one more hidden on the side of the engine below the air filter. IIRC that second one also has a short section of clear plastic pipe on it to allow easy draining into the tray beneath the engine.

Thanks for that. I'll check out the service manual. Does your engine have valves .. I suppose these help with the flow when draining?

I've got that same diagram but I had heard that some engines have coolant valves on the engine block. Looks to me that all I have to do is open the filler cap and open drain plug C. I've downloaded the service manual that Bomber suggested but haven't had a chance to look through it yet. Thanks for your help!

I didn’t know anything about valves and the 3ym30 service manual only refers to opening the drains to empty the system. Nothing more complex. Hope it goes well
