Spotted yesterday, at the big local biker bacchanalia: Boat anchored inside a marked swim area.

Now, in consideration, it was a coldish day, and there was likely to be no swimming. On the downside- that doesn't mean the markers become meaningless.

Oh, and here's a bike:

Your thoughts, my peers from across the pond, are appreciated.

The boat is a bit flash but, secretly, quite cool. As no one was around I say live and let live.
The bike is obviously very cool, and classy, but not as fast or comfortable as a Honda CBR 600 so maybe unsectretly uncool (confusing myself now)

Hondas, with the exception of the CBX and some weird 60s racers, are definitely NOT cooler than any vintage Britbike..or any vintage Kawi, for that matter.

The "vintage Britbike" to which you refer was made in Madras. Their spex are a little higher on export models, but having ridden several Indian ones in India, I can tell you're they're definitely vintage and as delightful as carbide lights. The brake linings, from what I could tell, were made of a particularly hygroscopic cardboard.

"Weird" is an odd description for some of the most remarkable grand prix bikes ever built.
By the way, what's a "Kawi": an opponent of an Injin in children's games, perhaps?

That is like saying an electric toaster is cooler than this:

You are probably right. Just winding you up really. I've just replaced my Mgb roadster with a ford focus. My kids and friends think its a crime. But sometimes you just want your toast.

The intent of shortening Kawasaki to Kawi is no more xenophobic then calling a BMW a beemer.
While I am sure Honda fans are aghast at hearing that those "remarkable" race bikes described as weird, a 250 cc 6 cylinder engine could hardly be considered mainstream.
A Britbike is a britbike no matter where it was built- or who owns it, for that matter. An Enfield 350 designed and orginally built in Redditch will always be a Brit bike no matter where it first leaked oil, just as Jaguars will always be British cars no matter what the nationality of the owners.

The limp chain does look rather sad.

Here's a more diverse shot:

A little bit of everything. Even a toas, er, Honda. ;)

The boat with the removal of that dreadful spray hood could be said to be reasonably cool. The bike on the other hand ? Enfields cool ? never even the Royal Enfield when made in Redditch wasn't cool. Now other Vintage British bikes, Triumph, BSA, Velocette, Norton, Vincent, AJS, Matchless, Brough Superior, Aerial, Sunbeam, to name a few, in no particular order, and up to the latter sixties, were and still are cool. But this does not include the range of smaller two strokes, for example James, Francis Barnett et al.
Just my opinion of course. As an aside, my Lewis Leathers jeans and jacket have just been returned from SWMBO's son, who now lives in the USA,I bought them in about 1965 when I rode a Triimph Tiger 100 SS, and to my suprise they are a little tight around the waist. I didn't think leather shrank, but it must have. If I contacted Lewis Leathers would I have a viable complaint?

Yes I only found out recently that they were still in busness. but they don't seem to do leather jeans any more. A shame cause mine are still in excellent condition, even the original zips are still perfect. Excellent product, though I seem to remember them being very very expensive. I think I paid in the region of £27.00 for them. ( thats right twenty seven pounds ).
