Cool box temperature control

I've just fitted a proper temperature controller (PID) to my cool box in place of the crude capilliary device it came with. The original sensor was on thw evaporator plate. Just wondering where the best place for the pt100 sensor is and what temperature to run it at. Anyone else done this.

I just put an IN / OUT Digital temp gauge in ... with display where I can see it ...

Cost about a fiver in local DIY shop ..

I got one of those clocks with bluetooth remote temp sensor as well as internal one for a fiver and put the remote one in the fridge. Works well. Lasted 3 years so far.
