cool box 12v camping fridge time?

I have a little WAECO 18, I think. Works well used at home as a standby more capacity freezer. Good in the car but never in the boat. However I found the bottom of the freezer very cold to touch. Obviously the bottom insulation is not brilliant. I stnad it on top of some foam to aid insulation. Don't know if it helps but makes me feel happier. ol'will

We recently bought a Kitgarn 35L compressor cool box. It's a fraction of the price of the equivalent dometic and we're incredibly happy with it. It's well built, very efficient and we're able to run it continuously ( 150w of solar and 180Ah of house batteries ) whereas our old Thermo electric box just seemed to flatten the batteries without getting anything cold. I also tried building a peltier cooler lid for the built in cool box, which used a lot of power for very little effect.
