Cooking with hot water....

ahh thats a good idea for when I go 'liveaboard' any chance of some pics of the fixing method
TIA

It's just ha s a right angle at the bottom of the tube. Held in place with a G clamp. On the last boat it used to be clamped onto the aux outboard bracket on the pushpit.

It should be OK with good ventilation. A CO detector wouldn't go amiss. I still wouldn't fancy it myself, mind you.

No, no, no it is NEVER OK to use a BBQ in an enclosed space no matter how good you think the ventilation may be. The amount of carbon monoxide produced by a BBQ is massive. The concentration of carbon monoxide needed to kill is minute.
The most common form of suicide in Hong Kong is carbon monoxide poisoning using a BBQ.

yes very nieve and stupid answer, many people have died bbq inside.

ALL forms of heat/cooking that involve flames/burning will create co,the main times it has been fatal is in an enclosed NON ventilated area,so your comment about it being stupid is in fact stupid itself, yes it is not advisable but can be done

You don't get it do you . If its not advisable why did you advise it ??

try the striped box company.... their fab meals (such as leg of lamb etc) can be boiled in the bag (25 mins). Was a God send on our cruise.

How hot is the water out of the OP's Burco going to be after 25 minutes in a bowl, though? He's not just trying to cook with (continuously) boiling water, he's cooking with essentially just a kettle.

ok, my new boat is a bit basic when it comes to the domestic features....Its an ex RNLI Lifeboat and the Galley consists of...a Hotwater boiler and a sink! Great for making cups of tea/coffee but that's about it! At this stage I wont describe the heads, best say there is no fittings through the hull...

What I would like from the collective is some suggestions from the collective for meals than can be produced with such limited facilities, (long term plan is to fit a few more creature comforts..but until then....,) ie using either hot or cold water! FYG the cold water used to fill the water boiler is kept in water containers under the sink..."manumatic" fill up!!

Very limited I'm afraid. You are limited to teas coffee, pot noodles, cous cous, and cuppa soup. Get a two burner cooker with oven or at least a grill. The camping stoves can be bought cheaply but won't last like stainless boat ones.

I dunno, steak n chips, chicken tikka masala, jelly n icecream... ...the list is endless.

Suppose you could defrost a bag of soggy chips and boil the steak but even for a carnivore that can't be that delicious!
Never understood where they got the idea for Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean from, sounds like an aquired taste.

Get a Trangia camping stove, can use inside or out, great as a backup stove if you run out of gas (assuming you eventually install gas)...
