I'm looking to relocate my 31ft long-keeler and was thinking of Conyer. She's very traditional with a draft of 1.8m Any current berth holders who would like to offer their views about the place please. I'm well aware of the limitations of a tidal marina having kept my boat in one similar in the past. The marina looks well-managed and smart, but personal experiences are always valuable. I know the surrounding area reasonably well and it's not too far from home. I was slightly amused/alarmed to learn that applications should be accompanied by a photo- of the boat, not the owner- but that the owner has to meet the MD first.

I've visited Conyer and found it friendly, and a friend had his boat there for many years and liked it. The only issues might be your draught (which you are aware of), and if you are travelling by rail it is a fair hoof from the station. Other options to consider might be Iron Wharf at Faversham (which might be better for transport) and Youngboats up Oare Creek, which involves a bit less creek and might require less tide to get in/out. If you would consider a mooring/mud berth, Queenborough would be another option.

Frequently been to Conyer on weekend club trips.
Gated marina.Lots of nice local walks when amazingly rarely the weather is rubbish.
BR station a mile away and a £4.00 quid train ride into Faversham and its plethora of pubs and food outlets.
Very friendly and non cliquey moorings, sheltered, so no worry about if the boat will still be attached to mooring after any January winter gale.
Walk to you boat.Power and water on tap.

No messing with "there some of the time" trot boats.

Interesting access via creek but if us Mobos can do it any yachty can probably do it with their eyes shut.
Nice clubhouse on site.
Haul out facilities.
Owner lives on site to keep eye of things 24/7.
Some pretty large yachts in there and with an prompt start a half decent day sail should be possible.

We berth there, we moved to Conyer 2 years ago. We must like it or we wouldn't have stayed. Everyone there on the staff is pleasant and helpful. Decent pontoons, loos etc. Reasonably priced for a drying marina. Good guys in the yard. Friendly crowd of boat owners. Decent pub nearby (owned by the same people who have the marina).

Recently purchased a yacht from Conyer and I have to say I really liked the place, very friendly, good clubhouse, good facilities, clean and tidy. Seems well run and managed. Creek was no problem to navigate.

Thanks for the replies. I'm currently on a swinging mooring but a seriously arthritic knee means it's getting more difficult to get aboard. Once there I'm fine, but dragging the dinghy down the pontoon, launching and recovery are all a bit daunting. I should be getting a new one this year -knee that is- but in the meantime relocation to an alongside berth seems sensible.
