Due to my job moving down south, myself and SWMBO are checking out Conwy this weekend as a possibility to keep the boat at. Anyone know of either a pub or a sailing club bar that we would bump into other owners to get the lowdown on the area? SWMBO says that she may even buy a drink!

Don't know Conwy, but if your SWMBO is buying, come round by Oldmeldrum ! !

I'll drink with anyone if they're buying ! !

Good luck with the move.

I'm probably biased but Conwy is an excellent place to sale with a beautiful cruising ground on the doorstep. I'm sure you'll be made welcome at the North Wales Cruising Club bar which you'll find just off the quay, through the arch on the right hand side. Check out the website at www.nwcc.info

Also at the Marina there is The Mulberry which is a bit plasticky in the modern pub idiom,, however on a Friday night there are usually a fair number of boaters in there.

There is also a new Marina across the river at Deganwy.. Not sure of the price difference between the two.

Plenty of people keep their boats quite happily on moorings in the River..

Seriously though you'll get a tremendous welcome and despite appearances they know a thing or two about sailing as well.
