The kids are off school for mid term break, it's a bank holiday, schools out! Even The Marina Queen piloted by Roy was out, although it must be said of the two weeks he had in hand he could only bear leaving his berth for 3 of them. Baby steps, boys, baby steps!

So here we are at Porth Dinllaen home of the famous beach bar Ty Coch just chillin on anchor trying to look suave for the locals

No, we didn't win the lottery, that's the backdrop that brought us back down to earth. Nothing for it but to raid Roy's funbox before he could scarper

He failed at that too...

We were too small to anchor with the big boys, had to settle for moorings

The three days we spent there was a mixture of beer, BBQ and brunch fry ups while we swam and played on the towed water toys. Great weather!

That was all Roy could take before he got homesick for his berth so we all parted ways. Roy doing his usual 10 knts I think we had already spent a night at Abermenai before he passed us on his homeward leg.

With another parting of ways I headed up to Port Dinorwic to try out the Miracle dinghy I had spent Covid lockdown rebuilding. It had started out as wood but ended up being mostly fibreglass.

My boy has a great future in politics!

The great thing about family is they are always there to record your triumphs!....

......And save your ass when you right the dinghy and it sails away from you leaving you bobbing in the water looking like a clown!

7 days at sea is as much as the Might Formula can take before water and beer stocks get low. I had to bear a lot of flack from every mob member and associated chattel for being seen in a dock. I hasten to add it is a dock and not a marina! Victoria Dock Caernarfon to be exact.

Back to Aber and Llanddwyn where we had it all to ourselves

We found a Turkish Barber in Caernarfon and the boy has changed career paths to Urban Rapper

The next morning the wind changed from SW to NE and despite having THE BEST ANCHOR IN THE WORLD the formidable Spade (accept no inferior) we dug out and landed on the shingle beach (thank god I anchor there with drives up!) I shall forthwith return to my trusty Bruce anchor that resets on a dime. One of our bretheren was not so lucky. While I was on the shingle with drives up his shafts on the other side of the Menai could not take the strain and punctured his hull and sank him.

I'd call the holiday I success. Not bad for the mob (y) ?

Great success @BruceK

We noticed the winds were quite random over the BHW and a forecast gentle easterly turned up as a westerly during the day. Glad to hear you were unscathed. Real shame about the other boat ?

Roll on the weekend!

There is only one official Stoke City FC supporter. Nobody else would be seen dead in their tracky top
