In another question "Gordhouse" has asked the question "What is the best 25ft boat. When I bought (in 1974) a new Conway 25/6 I was told that the hull moulding had been used by a previous boat builder who had moved on to larger boats. This hull shape was superb and had very good sea keeping qualities. After Conway closed down I believe that the hull moulding was sold on again. So my question, where you have a successful hull shape is it not feasible that this hull is still made today and who makes it.

Re:- Conway Moulds

Hi 'If you would like to know more about the conway moulds may I suggest that you contact Poolside Boat Centre based at Freckleton in Lancashire .They had at one time the full set of moulds for the conway boat .These moulds had the ability to produce a 26ft and 31ft hull the also had the cabin moulds for the 26 and the 31 aft cabin model there was also an infill in the keel section that enabled the builder to build a river and estuary version of both models by adding a deep keel. If you draw a blank with this company then I believe that Tremlett boat builders based in Topsham Devon used a set of Conway's moulds for many of their boats . Hope this is some help.P.S As a matter of interest I have a copy of the original "Conway 26" brochure I would be happy to sent a copy if you so wished. Regards ., Nick .

Hi I know this is a long shot but I have just purchased a Conway 26. Its name is Gizmo and there is a number on the side 722S I think it was built in 1985 but I can not find any reference to it anywhere. I would love to see a copy of the original brochure.

Regards
Roy Waddington

the Conway was built in Cheadle in staffs , a guess between 1974 - 85 , I used to dream of owning one . I worked next unit earning £6 a week as an elelectrical apprentice engineer.
