Converting a Continental LPG regulator to Calor, can it be done?

At least his views and cavalier attitude are now well documented on these forums. I am sure the archives will provide a useful record for the Coroner or prosecuting counsel to make use of.

Imagine a scenario similar to the case of the m.c. Arniston but involving fire or explosion rather than poisoning.

What silly neurotic nonsense. Why stop at fire & explosions surely there must be other tragic scenarios you can dream up to justify your lack of courage.

How do you know if you step out in the street in a minute that you won't get run down by a bus?Really there are people here that should'nt be let out without their mothers holding their hands
Probabilities. And lack of ability to judge them. A 20/30 year old regulator corroded on the outside may well be corroded on the inside as well ready to spill it's guts . You have no way at all of knowing.
I can well judge the probability of getting run down by a bus, very low.
Not about hand holding in the slightest, it's about how accurately are you able to judge probabilities of equipment failure and when to admit it's time to listen to others who know things you have no idea about.

Or put another way, not being a bloody fool. ;)

I am only really interested in a dialogue with people with open minds :encouragement:

Difficult for open minded people to have any meaningful dialogue with persons who inhabit a world of their own and one that seems to run counter to the world that open minded people inhabit.

Pointless you continuing to challenge advice when you are so convinced you are right - even though you are wrong.

Maybe you will get to the point where you will accept that you are out of step and just spend the small amount of money required to purchase the correct equipment to make your gas system both operable and safe.

Ah, I wondered when you'd show up.My gas system is still in the development stage & so far I am very pleased with it. :encouragement:

Why do you have to do any development of your system, particularly when what you are doing does not provide you with a functioning system. The correct equipment is available off the shelf. You seem to want to use a specific type of bottle that requires a specific type of regulator. Just buy one and save yourself a lot of hassle - and fit a new hose as required by the British standard.

What a load of tripe, you have no idea what I'm doing to my system.Your arrogance is simply staggering.

Tranona has been a member these forums for a lot longer than you have. His posts, his answers to questions and the advice he gives are second to none. The extent of his knowledge on boat related matters never ceases to surprise me.
To call him arrogant is ridiculous but I bet he is beginning to wonder, as are many of us whose advice and suggestions you have rejected, just what what you are trying to do.

You started by asking if there was an adapter that would enable you to connect your old regulator to a calor propane cylinder........... I eventually found what I think you need but you even rejected that, not even bothering, it seems, to look at the links I provided.

I still don't get it.I have certainly never visited that page though it says I have

An infamous ex- member

You obviously have now. Your name would have been added to the list today! ... Did you notice if my name was included ?

I can't see the point in asking advice from experienced and knowledgeable people (myself excluded) and then rejected. Vic gave you a link to a fitting that did what you wanted - why don't you fit it? Admittedly it is more expensive than a new regulator.
