Conversion to blinds..any problems?

OceanAir are the biz for boat venetian blinds. They have website. The slats slide up/down on wires, to stop them swinging about

You wouldn't believe the types of blinds that are now available, it's well worth looking at specialist blind suppliers, they have so much experience eg blind-inspiration.com

I Know on the later versions of my boat (F43) they seem to be fitted as standard.

"Rickp" a forumite may be able to help with anything Sealine. At least he may be able to tell you who Sealine use to make them!

PM me if you can't get hold of him and I'll send you his number.

Err.. think you're confusing me with someone else. I used to own an F43 - but I don't know who made the blinds.

I agree with jfm - OceanAir are very good. I believe Trader will even show you their brochure but then fit some taiwanese copies it you're really lucky....

I put blinds over the salon windows of my 46'...didn't tie down the bottoms or anything.

Because they are a reasonable fit they don't flop about when underway...or just pull the string and they gather up and still don't flop about.

Much better and cleaner than curtains.

Not sure what windows you are putting them over but not sure you really need tie down ones.

Alternative to tie down is to glue some magnets on the windowledge....all depends on the aesthetic.

I found Oceanair to be a bit expensive and not sure you need "special" blinds....just a bit of thought!!!!

Fitted normal domestic venetian blinds on my F33 no probs.Took about 30 mins to fit. Used the smallest slat available IMO looks neatest.Found that specialist suppliers were too expensive.
You can retain the the bottom edge of the blinds if you wish with small alum U channel or even velcro. They look much better than the standard Sealine curtains.
