Continental pump out station - how do they work ?!

What boat is this? I’ve had boats with both systems (gravity and pump sea discharge) but always also had a deck pump-out fitting; seems unusual to have gone to the trouble and expense of fitting a holding tank but not added a deck pump out.

My Moody 54 was originally built in 2001 with a 120 litre holding tank and diverter valves and piping from both toilets, a macerator pump and through-hull discharge, but no deck fitting.

Before moving my boat to the Baltic, I fitted a deck pumpout fitting. It was not a big job. Drill a hole through the deck, Sikaflex and screw the fitting into place, and one run of pipe. It was a one-afternoon job, even with cutting a floor beam to make room for the piping to come through.
