Contest 31

In Holland these boats (not to confuse with Contessa) a very good name when it comes to build quality. Build in traditional heavy style. Not very fast. Some call them slow.

I like them but the vast majority is sold with shallow keel option that does not help the already not great windward performance.

If you are a sucker for classic style, this could be your boat.

I dont know which era Contest you refer too, but there are a few of modern larger ones at our yacht club and the quality appears second to none.

This reply is a few weeks late, sorry - but in case anyone is still interested in the 'old' Contest 31, here is some info about her :

I have delivered a Contest... They are roubust yachts built to a high standard - solid and safe cruisers. It's true, they are not performance boats, but they sail reasonably well and are finished very nicely!

If you are looking for a comfortable cruising yacht then I would recommend them.

We bought a contest 32 early last year and are very pleased with her. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
