Which Contest 25 do you mean; the late 60s model by Van Essen or the early 70s version by Dick Zaal? It is more likely to be the latter which was imported in some numbers by Interyacht of Woodbridge. She is a full-bodied design with a shallow fin keel, skeg-hung rudder and moderate masthead rig. She was marketed as a cruiser-racer but was a bit too heavy and solidly built for the racing part of it. Des Slightholme, in a contemporary report, described her as 'well built and handsome...equally suitable as a family cruiser for beginners or for passage racing.'

She has five berths, good headroom, a practical galley and heads amidships. She is, for her size, comfortable and spacious though the interior build is solid and chunky rather than elegant. She is reported to be light and stable on the helm and a good sea boat.
