For no logical reason I'm keen to see if I can get any photos of Contessa 43s (in and out). The only photo I can find is this. Does anyone know where there are any more lurking on the web, please? Google pretty useless in this search.

Thanks,

Shuggy

Guapa - any idea why? I saw one last year at Ardfern (Flycatcher) and fell in love with the hull shape... and realised why when I saw the 'Co' at the bows. Are they very hard core or do people cruise them?

We looked seriously at several CO43's last year.

The one in Holland started it's life as Rushcutter and was raced extensively in the first 10 years of it's life. Then she went on the rocks in the Carib - and never really recovered.
Then 4 owners in 11 years - nuff said.
Now been for sale for 3 years.
Asking price 85K € - we offered 60K €. Rejected, but said he would accept 65K €. We said we'd think about it and bought something else.

If you really like the CO43 and have deep pockets I would make an agressive offer. The bloke had money problems last year - don't think his luck has improved.

The blue one was was sold last year - Swedish owner who kept her in France. Nicely converted down below - if a bit dark. Cruising boat. Had just hit the market when we looked at her and owner very reluctant to move on price. In the end she sold for less than we had offered.

The white one (in Spain or Italy) is Swiss registered and has I believe VAT "issues". Berthon (who acted as broker then) said all was fine, but I did not believe them (no proof) and I did not persue any further.

They are mainly racers, but the blue one was a very nice cruising conversion.

Thank you! I'm not in the market for one, just pipe dreaming. But I suspect they've all had fairly hard lives one way or another.
