I emailed JEREMY ROGERS LIMITED and got this reply back from Ruth. Here are some highlights...
"I have shown your pictures to Jeremy and he says that the original plate was 6mm or ¼” mild steel."
"We do not carry them in stock, but can fabricate for you in stainless steel"
"Jeremy says that you will need to be careful cutting the old one out as it is bonded in fiberglass, a bit tricky, but quite doable."
So there you have it.. From my measurements It seems I still have plenty of metal, I'll grind it back and see. I will also check the hole at the same time.
Might consider full replacement.. so long as it has not been glued to the body as well.
