Anyone else had a phone call today from Penarth Marina ? I had a call from CBYC this morning asking me to ring the marina, seems they've had an issue with the last petrol delivery and it's got a load of red diesel in it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif As yet they don't know how much diesel was in there though, once they do a course of action will be decided for those affected.

We've got half a tank of it (85 litres) and had noticed some smoke round the back on tickover and it running a bit lumpy, but put it down to our run to the Severn Bridge being the first proper run it's had for a while.

I guess anyone that's taken petrol from there in the last 2 weeks and hasn't had a call had best ring them, they're doing their best to contact every affected boat but if you're not from cardiff bay you may get missed. This is only for those that have PETROL engines though, not dismals. In most cases I'd hazard a guess that a fuel drain and refill, with perhaps a plug & filter change at worst should cure it.

Cheers

Mike.

Called in tonight to drop my boat keys off, they're sorting every boat out so good on them. 20 boats are affected and they've traced all but one, which was a passing boat, so if you took petrol from them in the last 2 weeks and haven't had a call, give them a call and ask for Stuart (he did say the boat name but I can't recall it).

Full marks to them for sorting it quickly.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for highlighting the issue online - the only outstanding boat we have not been able to track down as of yet is "Bella Madia". If anyone knows of this vessel, please contact the Marina Office on 02920 705021 and we will make arrangements for dealing with the contaminated fuel.

We are pleased to announce that as of today (2nd October) our fuel berth is again fully operational - the Petrol tank was emptied and cleaned yesterday (1st Oct) with a fresh batch of clean Petrol delivered. The fuel berth is open 0900-1700, 7 days a week.

Ben,
Berthing Master - Penarth Quays Marina.

Cheers Ben, I couldn't remember the name of it, all I could think of was Benalmadina, but that's just me dreaming of being able to use the boat in the sunshine /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
