Container ship slow progress

I am monitoring this container ship because I am expecting a delivery. The container ship is currently by Western Sahara, as shown on the map, is doing just over 7.1 kn, I believe that the current in West African area by Senegal and Western Sahara flows north to south, so the ship is going against the current, but I am surprised to see such a slow progress.

Slow steaming to save on bunkers as it doesn't have a slot at its next port of call for a while. No point burning fuel to get to e.g. Felixstowe, then have to park up in Sunk Deep for a week.

Fuel saving. I transited from South Africa to New Orleans on a drill ship and we cruised at 8kts to reduce fuel consumption to minimum.
