I'm doing a large area of ply with contact adhesive to bond formica. On the test pieces i have used Evostik impact. It works well but on the videos i have seen, they seem to use a more 'paint like' adhesive that leaves a more even coating rather than lumpy bits. Any idea what to use? Also, is it the same idea for bonding the cherry wood veneer?
This sort of stuff-

West system resin? Easy to work with, allows pieces to be moved and goes off and you will never separate the items.

Wipe both surfaces with acetone if you want a superb job.

Oh, no fumes, unless you like that bit of EVO.

There was a good article on veneering in PBO 544, Feb 2012. The writer was a professional with lots of experience and some superb examples. He used 'the trade equivalent of Thixofix, Evo-stik TX528' from builders merchants but says he has also used Evo-stik Timebond. Photos show him brushing the adhesive on.
