Consumer unit - can't unscrew plastic screws holding facia?

Hello,

I'm trying to remove my consumer unit from the bulkhead, so as to replace the conduit beneath it.

On its face are what appear to be four big flathead plastic screws, but they won't undo - they flex and instead feel like they're going to break, until the screwdriver pops out and they spring back.

Does anyone have any experience of this kind of consumer unit, please?

I think they will just turn to their stop so you can take the cover off. The mounting screws will be underneath.
