Connecting TV to Sky Box. Scart or RCA?

To get back to my original problem, which is that the scart plug wont fit thru the hole, I found this, specifically designed to fix the problem. :-)

That type of connection looks like an S video and if the TV has S video socket then it should work. You may need to connect the SCART end to the VCR output of the SKY box - I would still try the RCA lead (3 phono) first /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It looks like s video but it's just a straight scart to scart, but using a detachable plug so you can pass it thru small holes. See here http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/5m-through-wall-scart.html

It can't be fully wired cos it uses a 13pin DIN plug whereas a full scart is 21pins, but that likely doesn't matter for what I want

Thanks for the help earlier on the phone with your AV man :-)

I have no desire whatsoever to have TV on my dashboard

Funny you mentioned. In spite of the fact that it might seem a bit bling, that's the part of Hurric setup which I liked most. During long pitch black night passages, I'd rather have a nice movie running near the radar screen, than a useless chart.

So for a bit of fun - here's some pics
TV on the main helm - its the same for the upstairs as well.

Or it is possible to have both on the same screen at the same time.

Impressive.
Care to post also some pics of the screens showing the webcam you surely installed in the cabin shower?... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

PS: on a more serious note, what's the black panel on the left of the screen?

That's nice stuff Hurric

Interesting how you fitted the G screens - I didn't have room for the remote panels but I see you didn't either and just left them loose. Also the PIP is nice - you could watch a movie and have radar PIP on one of Mapis's night passages!

What is the LCD display just above the ST60+ "2.2m" readout in both pics?

They are the MTU engine displays - there are two of them, in fact.
IIRC there's also a larger one which can show both engines in one display, not sure about the differences though.

Yep

MTU displays - in fact they have two systems - SmartLine and BlueLine.
From memory, the older BlueLine systems are used on the larger installations.
Looking at my notes, the SmartLine systems can incorporate either a 2.8" display - like mine or the larger colour 6.5" displays. There's also a 6.9"display available.
I didnt really have a choice - the boat came with the 2.8" ones but there isnt room for the 6.5" displays anyway.

I've just noticed
djefabs might be interested in this.
There's provision for up to 6 microcomander control stands (master plus 5) plus a hand held remote or a Palm Beach control head.
Tempted to put one in the cockpit but I'm managing from the F/B at the moment.
