Connecting Standard Horizon GX2200E VHF to Raymarine C80 for AIS input

can you give me more details ,cost ,where to buy etc.

It depends upon where you are starting from and what you might be planning.

To simply add wifi to your current boat system you need something like one of these http://www.digitalyachtamerica.com/index.php/en/products/interfacing/nmea-to-wifi-adaptors.

In my case, I wanted to add an AIS transceiver to my existing system at the same time so I went for one of these https://www.vespermarine.com/xb8000-ais-transponder.html/ but DY and other companies also do very similar transceivers/receivers but all with slightly different specifications.

If you do a Google search you can buy all these gadgets online and compare prices.

Well, all fitted and working well!

The hardest part was running the nmea cable from the GX2200E behind all the panels etc

Ive just bought this same S/H radio and I'm currently in the serious brain aching process of plumbing all my nmea in.

I want to plumb the S/H gx2200 into the Raymarine A98 for AIS and anything else it would benefit from. Do I need a multiplexer ? if so what one to get or is it just a case of putting the wires together via chockblock? help please

Whether or not you need a muxer depends upon what NMEA ports your A98 has and whether they are already in use and what speed they are set to. The output from the GX2200 will, I assume, be NMEA 0183 at 38,400 baud. If you have an 0183 port available on your A98 then simply connect the GX2200 to this port and set the port speed to 38,400.

Don't use chock blocks for NMEA wiring ! Buy yourself some Wago 221 connectors.

If you only want AIS to the plotter and you have a free port then you don't need a multiplexor, as Richard said.
