It's about time something was done about these speeding hooligans. Clearly waves upset their little plan very well, so I for one am firmly in favour of the speedhumps.

My only reservation comes from discussions with my plumber. A man who owns a, goldplated three seater PWC with a gazzillion horsepower. He's already planning to use the speedhumps as a ramp and to jump over the Harbourmasters Office.

We were both a bit unsure about the location though. Is it near that really useful "sailthru burger bar"?

Your plumber sounds like a.....

...cheapskate.

My electrician lives in a mansion, has a holiday home in Portugal and employs a nanny with a package that includes a 4X4. When he fitted a PIR security lamp - well one of his minnions - at £300 - OUR plumber couldn't remove the staff loo cistern lid because it had been obstructed by sparks's mini-trunking.

At home, on the other hand Yours Truly is both the plumber and the electrician.

PS Sytner BMW charge £92 for an oil change taking 30 minutes even when you provide your own oil! Has the world gone mad or just got greedier?

Re:Don\'t get me onto garages

Mercedes are so well engineered that when you need a new set of disc pads you need a new set of disks as well. "Not covered by warranty sir, its just normal wear and tear".

My plumber is not far behind your bloke. Nice big house up here, nice quayside appartment in Poole (missus don't like flying see) plenty of noisy fuel guzzling speed boats and PWC's. Nice enough bloke though and gives me mates rates cos we went to school together. Another mates an electrician. Nothing flash about him, just lives well, but he does own 22 houses between High Wycombe and Milton Keynes. Not bad at 45.

Still doing your own electrics

Apparently you either have to get a qualified electrician now, or a £150 inspection!

The regulations just roll on...

. . . a nice little sideline for my "Retirement". Qualified Electrician, you see. . .

So if you're looking for some electrical work, just write your requirements on the back of a £50 note , and send it to me and I'll see what I can do !

Dearheart and I were lunching on the pavement in Denia
and our plumber walked by with a tasty blonde.
It turns out he has a place and boat (stinky) nearby.

Well, why not?

Well, actually 'cos I haven't!

I was told yesterday about a window cleaner who charged £40 for the windows of a house, took 30 minutes and was not very succesful at quality control! I think I must be in the wrong job!
