Confused seller.

and a confused buyer then Ben?

it's not wood and it's noway going to be an interesting fast craft when rebuilt!
I thought you were going for another Fairey

V.

Deluded seller more like: "...The boat even in this current condition is worth around 7k to a collector this is a rare find & would be worth any where between 30 to 50k if restored..." & "Will post to United Kingdom. Read item description or contact seller for postage options"

That made me chuckle too.

I thought that he would have to pay someone to take it away!

Quite!

Erm I think you might be right - I could easily add up £50k spend to achieve a boat worth (perhaps) £30k.

Would be interested to know what the reserve is set at - I felt the current bid at £510 was quite realistic.

I would like to see your spreadsheet trying to work out a valuation on this one.

Its only an option for someone that would do all the work themselves. Even the wildest man maths couldn't include labour rates and make any sense of it.

£15k should get decent used engines and boxes, grand for wood, grand for paint, grand for cooker, grand for heating, grand for electronics, couple of grand for plumbing, grand for stainless work, couple of grand for windows. Grand for a cockpit canopy.

Another 5 grand on bits and bobs.

£30k for materials.

Would take more than 1000 hours, less than 2000.
