Can't help noticing that there seem to be considerable number of vehicles, esp. white vans, flying the Cross of St George at the bow. Surely they can't all be veterans of the evacuation of Dunkirk?

Shame, but can't have 'em for it - motor ve-hicles aren't ships, unless you're R. Bransom.

Come to think of it last ime there was a major ball event a local pub was hanging (not wearing or flying, just draped over the whole his frontage, a Ginormous White (ensign), must have been 3m at the fly. I thought innocently, he must be an ex Mariner.

Now slightly wiser I suspect he coundn't get a George big enough and thought the Union bit was incidental?

Anyway, it'll all be over in a day or three.

I also noticed that some of said ensigns were defaced with words such as 'Sun'. 'Tis a sailing club I'd not previously heard of...

Re: Etiquette

Clearly a republican (or possibly publican) skipper, giving prominence to what looks like ybw.com birdey over our great nation's. Also, worried the Mrs TCM seems to be holding her ears to stop the evangelistic TK spouting on about the virtues of DIY teak deck maintanance.

Per an e-mail read out by Terry WOgan this morning, a flag is used to indicate a driver of less than average intelligence. Two flags is even lower, etc etc. That is why there are so many on white vans.
