Thanks for the info on this Marina. I can confirm that it is here and open! Currently 13 Euros per night up to 12M and the facillities are great. There is no longer any need to have a bridge raised it
must have been repostioned.
Our only issue was getting in!! with 4knts of current running across the narrow entrance we needed all that our old perkins could give to 'ferry glide' up and in ( like a rat up a drain pipe!!)
The 'guides' we have read suggest that one can park on the quays although there may be security issues.
Our experience was that all the quay side places were crammed and coming alongside in the current would not be easy.
The river has been in flood and has been on yellow alert, although the level has dropped a bit the current is still strong ( we were doing up to 10knots at our 6knot cruising revs) many of the pontoons are on the faster flowing inner side of bends, one needs to be careful not to overshoot when turning against the current to come alongside or it will take ages to get back up to the pontoon.
Generally speaking only the pontoons are viable as many quayside moorings are covered so planning for your stops or emergencies is a bit more critical.
We were also 'suprised' to find ourselfs directed around the locks and over the barrages ( our guide did not make this possibility clear) so the first one was a little unnerving!!
Thanks again guys for your advice.
We have a vehicle with us and parking is a real pain, only one free car park and that for vehicles under 1.8m.
