something's been puzzling me since getting the Bayliner 1750... slight water build up in the ski locker (abouot a quarter cup a night).. popped my head in there last night and could see a build up of condensation on the locker walls and there were droplets dripping from the top edge where the cover sits... I/m presuming this is due to the recent hot days and cold nights where heat is retained in the locker and under the boat cover causing a mismatch between inside boat temp and outside air temp = condensation.

Is there anything I can do to eliminate or minimise it or is it something that boaters simply live with?

cheers Gary

I've now read a few older posts.. I know, I know.. should have done that first /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It seems condensation is something that needs to be lived with and the only real solution is to improve ventilation on a boat such as mine.

think I'll install a bit of wood in the ski locker to sit things on so they don't get damp and lift it out occasionally to mop up any water that accumalates over time in the v of the hull

A small bucket / container of salt will soak up any moisture from the atmosphere, lasts about a month at a time, having a lid with holes in would probably be best, so if it gets knocked over, you don't spill the whole shooting match into your locker.

The Swedes use this method quite a lot during their very severe winters, seems to work for them.
