Computer question

I know I have quite alot of duplicate files & pictures on my computer & want remove the duplictes to free up some disc space. I have seen several programmes to find & remove the duplicates but has anyone got any reccomendations - preferably free!!!!!

The program I use and have been using for about 15 years is by ToniArts and is called EasyClean(er) and it is totally free.

It does much more than just find and remove duplicate files. It can also clean the Registry and show you in a 'pie-chart' which parts of your system is using most (or least) space.

on a similar but unrelated topic, sequoiaview gives a different perspective to your disk usage. It will take a moment or two to get used to if you've not used a similar tool before.

Toniarts' easycleaner is safe and detects duplicate files, chk files etc. Disk usage viewer (piechart), registry cleaner etc. ...and free!

Indeed, Colin, I downloaded it too and got the same message. It has however a different build number than the version on my PC. I've been using it for years now, with regular updates. This one seems to be a botched job.
However I found a working version (I've downloaded and tested it now) here:

N.B.: there is a host of "Easycleaner" named progs on the net, but they mostly paying.
