For some reason, a few days ago, when going online my Internet Explorer page is shifted downwards about the thickness of a taskbar, so that I see a strip of desktop at the top of the screen. It has been the same every time since then. The taskbar at the bottom is thus hiding the left-right slider control so I can't shift the pic when I'm on the fora. I've no idea why this happened as I didn't change any settings at that time. I've tried dragging the page upwards but that doesn't work and 'refresh' doesn't do anything. That exhausts my knowledge so can anyone please tell me how to reposition the page to full screen? I changed to the new IE7 a few weeks ago but things were fine till a couple days ago. Thanks.

May not be the ultimate answer but try clicking on the maximise button, if IE resizes to something smaller you can then drag the sides and corners about to refill the screen.

Thanks for the replies, tried both ideas but no joy. Oh lummee oh lor, what shall I do? I think I need a 12 year old. Anyone got a loaner? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

guessing here but perhaps have alook at screen resolution
Control panel
display
settings
screen resolution
this allows slightly different relationships between width & height

I have seriously contemplated that as I'm taking a while to get used to the IE7 layout anyway. How would I go about uninstalling IE7? Is IE6 still lurking behind the shed ready to take over again or will I have to source it and reinstall it? Thanks for your help and advice. I real numpty with this stuff!

Not entirely sure what the problem is, but what happens when you click on the top bar of explorer with your mouse, hold down the mouse button, and then move the entire window up to the top of your screen?

Flippin' heck, I don't know whether to thank you or send you my cleaning bill! I pressed F11, the bumf (technical computer speak hereabouts) at the top of the screen disappeared completely, the posts filled the screen bigtime, and poor old TB kacked his pants! Sheesh, talk about panic. So.....change underwear,,, what do I do? You guys must have heard my poor old brain from there! Eventually plucked up courage and pressed F11 again and Waahaay, the bumf came back and now it's in it's proper place at the top of the screen. Heart rate back to normal, BP just under the danger level. G&T level drops!
Mwah Mwah to davidwf, er well you know what I mean. Thanks to all for trying to help, except LS for giving me a hard time. Is that payback for my jokes about cormorants and rice pudding? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nothing personal against any browser, I've got most of them loaded. But telling people they should dump one cause of a minor easily solved problem isn't the best way forward.

Tell them why your preferred browser is better. Resizing issues occur across all browsers, not just IE

Blind belief in one above all others is just silly

Been discussing that elsewhere , a freind uses firefox and put a video clip on his website , he couldn't view it yet those of us on IE6 and 7 could see it clearly enough
Verdict , without techie input , firefox is now dumped , simple

Usually not down to browser at all, but the add ons required to view certain files, and the support of them, and security settings of your firewall and OS
