Boring I know to repost but does anyone else have a view on composite props? Dave Snelson was the only forumite to provide info on my first post.
I am considering these to fit on DP290 legs? News views or any other comments appreciated. Ta. Mike O

They have come on the market here in Australia, particuarly with Volvo Duo-props. One of our clients had an aft blade let go and managed to get himself talked into replacing it with another composite one.

There is a definite feeling he should have bought something in metal!

Thanks for re posting.
Missed your earlier one!
Having viewed your vid, reminded me of my mates Martinique.
Nice boat.
Which, funnily enough is also on LPG like Dave Snelsons Windy!

The only experience I have of said props is with a Suzuki 100 hp outboard.
I used the convenience of the 'changeability' factor to determine whitch pitch was best for said engine for the vessel attached to it.

From talking to others who have used them, the only advantage seems to be the fact that if damaged replacement is easier.
For optimum performance a 'metal' prop seems more desirable.

The only other advice I can give is to stay away from Dave Snelson's harbour. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I tried them years ago on my Bayliner with single Alpha 1 drive. Waste if time, ended up just keeping it as a get you home prop. Tended to cause over revving and that despite being sent different blades by the manufacturer.
