Complete: Refit of my Bavaria Sport 43

Hello,

I started a thread in February regarding the refit of my newly purchased Bavaria Sport 43. I didn't really succed to continlusly updated it by anyhow - it's now done and here's some pictures and info about the final result.

A short summary:
The boat was in decent condition when I bought here but since I love details and gadgets I needed to update it. Overall me and my friend (that's also is a mechanic) spent approx 350hours on the boat to get it in the current shape.


General:

Installation of underwater lights (Blue Ocean Led X8)

Installation of rear windlass (Anchormatic with belt)
For this installation we forced to make some special metal work in the engine room. 20kg anchor we decided to go with.


Installation of Zipwake interceptors (kit of 75cm)


Installation of Bowsprit with ladder (Båtsystem)



Cockpit/helm/exterior:

New cockpit deck lights to improve the cosyness (no lights today on low level)

New cockpit spot lights (stainless instead of white ones)


New plotter (Simrad 12 inch)

New outdoor upholstery (Silvertex)

New Bavaria logo stickers

Custom made name sign with back lighting

Fix some various gelcoat damages

Varnish of table and wooden details

New camper boat cover and softtop in Sunbrella
The softop actually got destroyed during the transportation. I have attached some pictures of the mayhem. I also wrapped the radardome.

Interior:
Attaching some before pictures here also.

Carpets in all cabins
New mattresses
New dinning table in marble
Replace brown interior fabrics

Restore the kitchen layout (the previous owner had modified it and added a huge microwave)

Integrate an dishwasher (the previous owner have added on but it had to be redo it with better finish)

Installation of Fusion marine kit speakers and stereo

Polish and paint everything that can be seen!
When the boat arrived is was very dirty and full of sand.

Bottom-painted the hull to black

Teak improvements

This is the second boat I have them on - I love them. Can't imagine about without them really.

Pretty much what we are doing to our ABS 47, great job. How are you finding dockmate ?

I have just used it twice so far and those times it worked great. I've then single handed docked the boat in quite windy conditions. The Sport 43 is quite big (4,42m wide) and hence it's often quite tight where I'm docking.

We have been debating whether to use Yacht-controller or Dockmate. Dockmate seems it may be better with IPS, now having heard a positive review am leaning towards Dockmate.

I did the comparison my self as well. But I decided to go with Dockmate since they are based in Belgium with dealers in Europe (Sweden) compared to Yacht controller that's US based.

Does it control IPS properly, directing the pods etc. as the helm joystic does ?
