Firstly, hello! I'm all new to this, 100% new.
I was at a pub enjoying the summer sun Britain had at the weekend, this pub was right next to the river with moorings, 5 minutes later 3 boats pulled up, moored and went inside for a few beers. It made me jealous, i must admit. So now I'm thinking of getting a boat. I'm thinking of a 15ft (or smaller) speedboat with outboard motor. I've looked on ebay and found some under £1,000. Which is ideal really. But, what are the other 'hidden' costs of owning a boat? i.e launching costs, maintenance, insurance, tax, fuel? I'm not sure if i'll have it moored anywhere, with speedboats being rather small i'll have it sat on the trailer on the drive way.
