Is it just me ?

Every time I order an item online from the the mail order company Compass the website says it is in stock and available then after ordering I get an email back the next day to say they are out of stock and there will be a delay in delivery.

Either they are not keeping the website up to date, or they are not ordering stock until the customer has put money in their bank account - good cashflow management ?

Am I alone in this experience ? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yup.... only ever once had a problem like that...

The problem I did have with them, is that everytime I ordered something, I was tagged on their systems as a new customer, despite using the same login details.... consequently, I got quite a few catalogues through the post from them... at its worst I had 5 turn up in one post..... seem to have sorted it now though....

It is called Just in Time!

Yep it is a common issue with Compass. I think the 'in-stock' means it is on order so will be there in 7 days. At least they only charge you once for delivery, no matter how many packages they send it in (at their expense)

Cheers

A case of "Just in Time" management then for Compass, but for me the customer its "Just about had enough".

Will vote with my feet and wallet, despite their good price discounts.

I have ordered lots of stuff from them and never had any issues. They have also always responded to email queries within 24 hours which is more than I can say about the other on-line chandlers I have used.

Marc.

I'm not saying who this mail order supplier is for obvious reasons - but a few years back I ordered around £500+ of bits and they did not arrive as promised.
I chased after 2 weeks, got apologies, but after a further 3 weeks, still nix arrived.
I was about to call again and the parcel man called with 3 parcels.
Each filled with exactly what I ordered that first time.
And only one payment taken from card.
So guess it sometimes works out in the buyers favour........
