Does anybody know of a compass repairer who might stock spares for a "White Star" Riviera Genova compass?

Not for me, but for my English cruising chum now living in NZ who's passing through the UK this Spring.

It's the diaphragm that's causing the problem . . .

The retaining ring is 108mm across and there are 8 screws holding it in place. It has lost all its liquid so advice on what the oil is would be welcome. The dome has been affected by the sun, I do not know if it can be polished or whether i will need a new one. I guess at 30 years it is likely that things will go wrong and need replacing.

So, sounds like 1) a new diaphragm (if available in UK/NZ) 2) the specification for the correct type of liquid/oil for this make of compass and 3) maybe a new acrylic(?) dome.

Any leads/recommendations for spares/info gratefully received.

TIA
