Here in Italy, I saw a red Compass inflatable which I rather liked the look of (to buy, not to nick!). It was bought in Germany as the technical blurb on the transom was in German and it had the text 'Compass' on the lateral tubes, with a schematic compass within the 'O'. Anyone know whether this is from Compass Inflatables or Compass Watersports?

I have a compass inflatable (grey Hypolon) I beleive they are made in one of the emerging eastern bloc countries. Perfectly good quality - but if its red is probably not hypalon which will stand the sun much better and is worth getting.

I think you'll find the one with the compass logo in the O is from Compass Watersports; I believe they're the people who operate the chandlery in conjunction with YBW.com website; they look good value from £219.95 for the 2m one. I thought about buying one a couple of years ago, but decided on a soft stern model Series 100 from the other Compass, marketed by Konexion. Only problem has been with rather inferior(in my opinion) rowlocks. Konexion replaced them with more substantial ones after a couple of months. Oh! and there is a slight problem with the rubber strip acting as keel; this split when folded, was not replaced when I returned it to Konexion, but I have since attempted a so far successful sticking job. I found the soft stern goes into the car boot better the solid transom.
Cheers
Chris
