Compass Dinghy - Good buy or not ?

I looking for a new dinghy and the compass 260 is much cheaper than most of the competition.

Has anyone any experience of these.

Are they good enough quality or would I be better paying more for a zodiac?

You get what you pay for I think. A hundred years ago I was given a new compass dinghy and it was crap. Useless compared to a Avon, AB, Zodiac even.

If you are going to use it a lot then get a quality dinghy but if you are going to use it very infrequently for short trips then why not?

If I was you I would pay slightly more and get a Suzumar 260. You will not regret it in the longrun!

I bought a Compass 230 earlier this year & was well pleased - it seems tough & well made and excellent value for money.

I bought a 10yr old compass 3 man dinghy for £50 at the begining of this season and it seems pretty tough. I've only had to repair one leak!
