That was very interesting. It's always good to get independent confirmation of the wisdom of purchasing decisions (I bought a Kiwiprop: not tested, but similar to the Maxprop 3 blade which came out well). Subjectively I've been pleased with it, certainly for sailing, but it's too early yet to see whether fuel consumption figures show any real difference under motor.
What really interested me, though, is the almost throw-away conclusion near the end, clearly showing that a conventional fixed prop allowed to freely rotate generates half the drag of the same prop locked. Given the heated debates we've had on the forum on that subject - involving crashing helicopters and God knows what - I would have thought it would have generated more debate...
