Amoung our many issues this year, has been the starter motor at the end of its life. I've just used a very small outfit (probably a one man band) via eBay to get an exchange, rebuilt item for my ancient Perkins 4108. The engine is a very early model lowline unit, actually utilising the 4107 starter. These old starters are not so easy to come by these days.
Through no fault of his own, the starter was badly damaged in transit (bloody couriers). He's in Preston, Lancs while me and my floating tub are in France. This is still ongoing, but the guy has done, and is still doing, everything he can, including a one day turnaround to fix said starter, and returning phone calls well into the evening.
How refreshing to find there are still guys out there like this. No greed for his share holders. Just a guy doing everything he can to keep his company afloat, while also keeping his customers happy.
I'm quick to complain when I feel companies behave badly, so think it only fair to sing this guys praises.
The company is ICS Online Ltd, and can be found on or off eBay.
