Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm?????????????? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Best not go there eh? I did used to wonder if they were called heads, because that is all that would fit in them? Most on small boats are just about big enough for a midget to access the heads compartment! I much prefer "bucket & chuckit" much healthier, except if you are standing in the way of course! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: \'compact\' toilet

The space is quite big enough, its the actual article that's dimensionally challenged.
34" waist (but I went for the optional love-handles, too) so I don't regard myself as a complete wobble-bottom, but using that little number, well, let's just say there was a fair amount of impingement going on, both fore and aft. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Re: \'compact\' toilet

I thought there was a recent post where someone had successfully put a replacement standard seat on a "compact" loo? As long as its central, should be OK?!

Re: \'compact\' toilet

I replaced my bog last year for a full sized one. So much more civilised, one has to be comfortable when doing the crossword.

I wouldn't ever put up with a bucket sized heads again, not on a yacht anyhow. Though I would probably leave the compact in the crew's quarters, the Lady and I have standards, these people didn't wash before we employed them.

The extra dosh for full size bowl is IMO worth every penny.

I recently replaced my compact loo with a brand new one, SWMBO decreed that our new (to us) boat shall have a new loo. Unfortunately we assumed that the original compact loo had been fitted due to the space available. It now turns out that we could have replaced the compact loo with a normal bum sized loo without any problems.

Re: \'compact\' toilet

Mystery solved- I found the post on the Moody Owners site!

"The compact is standard on the 346 but you don't have to put up with the tiny plastic seat! I bought some lovely standard wooden seats at the local DIY store and one fitted a treat on the boat as well as the home toilets. Just adjust the attachment hinge fittings to get the best fit on the bowl and bliss will be achieved."

No personal experience etc!!!!

finding the post was a bit of a strain, but this should put a lid on it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Obviously not a bum steer so I won't need to sit down and figure it out. Now it's off to Oxford's B+Q within the hour - not what you'd call a 'wee shoppie': what a dump! No doubt I'll come back flushed with success.

Re: \'compact\' toilet

I also found that replacing the plastic seat with a teak one made a vast improvement. Originally forced on us by the development of a crack in the plastic that piched the bum every time. Replacement was a yottie one so naturally cost an arm and a leg, but really was money well spent. Only problem having spent a small fortune on the thing, why oh why are the fittings made of chrome plated brass? The chrome pitted within weeks and has to be rubbed down with fine abrasive paper evry season.
