Well
Thank you for that Chris - I still enjoy sailing - even if it is at the speed of a pedalo. I suppose for one thing I wouldn't be comfortable spending so much money on fuel as you boys do - There have been times when I've wished for a bit more speed to get me out of the way of an impending patch of bad weather - I considered buying a catamaran for a while - but 5 - 6 knots is OK - I'm not really in a rush to get where I'm going - and if I got there at your speed, then I'd only be looking for somewhere else all the sooner. Too many decisions!
We're west berks and travel to Lymington YH, takes about anhour if the traffic is light, especially as the M27 is finished!
Just short enough for aquick trip out but just too far to pop down to check things over.
If it weren't for Lyndhurst life would be wonderful, this cloggs up the traffic both ways for at least 20 minutes in the summer, mostly more.
Anyway can't complain - i'd travel virtually anywhere!
Also do the Berks/Lymington run. I don't ever go through Lyndhurst if there is any chance of it being busy as it can add an hour to the journey at peak times. Much better to take the alternative route. I'm not going to advertise it here though! PM me if you haven't been told about it.
I stayed at Sharock Quay in the summer and was pleasantly surprised on how nice it was staying there. It's a shame that its not a little more scenic!!!
Yer all playing at it. Just broke all records and spent nine and a half hours in a trafic jam that went all the way from Plymouth to Manchester. Four and a half is average with four hours being the world record. Occasionaly six. But nine and a half hours on a wet October friday. Ugg!!

Twenty minutes from the boat - wouldn't fancy it any other way. Busy life means fitting in time on the boat is not always easy - throw commuting into the equation and it would be a diasaster!!
